At metacog, we are 100% focused on providing the best capabilities for our users and making our services to as many people as possible all around the world. We are dedicated to ensuring our products work beautifully for all our users. We passionately believe that all learners have the right to a great educational experience and are committed to removing any barriers to learning. Accessibilty is not a secondary consideration for us and we use the discipline of accessibility and usability standards to inform and inspire both beautiful aesthetics, and functional design.

We conduct research sessions with users with a variety of disabilities to make sure our products work in the real world, as well as just in our testing labs. Our accessibility efforts are guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 (level AA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Use of color and utilization of metacog to improve accessibility

continuous feedback loop using data from learners to target instruction and improve learning products
Our product suite uses an accessible color palette which is designed to meet the colour contrast requirements for the vision impaired, and deliver an engaging experience for all users.

In addition, we ensure no important information is conveyed solely by the use of color.

Furthermore, the data that metacog collects can be utilized to help understand utilization of your products as well as analytics on affordances so as to optimize design of your products and provide greatest number of options for those requiring special accessibility needs.

Transcripts and closed captions

clustering learner behaviors from process data pathways
We use third-party services such as Youtube, Brightcove and Vimeo to host video, so authors can use the closed caption features of those services.

All our training videos and exemplars are in the process of being converted from self-hosted to third party services with narration to make the user experience consistent from section to section of our customer experience.

Please feel free to drop us a note for suggestions and comments. We’d love to hear from you!
